Submissions to Fae Corps Publishing
We here at Fae Corps Publishing are accepting submissions!
We accept art, poetry, short stories, and full manuscripts. We also accept work for our blog, newsletter, and anthology calls.
Lately, however, we have received quite a few submissions without being told what the person is submitting—or what they are submitting it for. To make things easier for everyone, please follow the guidelines below.
General Submission Guidelines
Tell us what you are submitting and where you want it considered.
Email submissions to faecorpspublishing@gmail.com.
Please use a clear subject line that tells us what the submission is for. For example:
SUBMISSION – [Anthology Title] – Poetry – [Your Name]
SUBMISSION – Newsletter – Art – [Your Name]
SUBMISSION – Publication – Full Manuscript – [Your Name]
Options include the Fae Corps blog, newsletter, current anthology calls, or publication of a full manuscript.
If you are submitting to a specific anthology or other call, please read that call as well. Requirements listed in the individual call take precedence if they differ from these general guidelines.
Please include:
- The title of every piece submitted.
- Your name and the exact name or pen name you want used in publication.
- A third-person author or artist bio, preferably accompanied by a photo. Please clearly identify your bio and photo.
- Any relevant information about previous publication or simultaneous submissions.
Please send all of the information needed for your submission together whenever possible. We understand that mistakes happen, but incomplete submissions may be returned to you for the missing information before we consider them complete.
Written Submissions
Written submissions should be sent as either a Google Docs link or an attached document file that we can open and edit. This makes it easier for us to read, edit, and prepare accepted work for publication.
Please use:
12-point Times New Roman, Courier, Ubuntu, or Liberation Serif.
Our calls for submissions include suggested word counts. These are guidelines rather than firm limits. If you are uncertain whether your work is too long or too short, err on the side of submitting it. We are not unkind in our rejections.
Please give your file a useful name whenever possible:
Author Name – Title of Work
Future editors will thank you.
Artwork Submissions
Please submit artwork in the file type requested by the individual call. If no type is specified, contact us if you are uncertain whether your file will work.
Every piece of artwork must have a title and an artist credit.
Please tell us:
Title:
Artist name as it should appear in publication:
If a piece genuinely has no title, tell us that it is Untitled rather than leaving the information out.
Please also give your files identifiable names. Our preferred format is:
Artist Name – Artwork Title.jpg
Please do not send files named only things such as art1.jpg, pirate2.png, or final.jpg. Those names may make perfect sense on your computer, but they don’t tell our editors what the artwork is or who created it once it joins dozens of other submission files.
Previously Published & Simultaneously Submitted Work
Previously published work is welcome with proper attribution. Please tell us where and when the work was previously published so that we can credit it appropriately.
Simultaneous submissions are also accepted. Please let us know that the work is being considered elsewhere and notify us if its availability changes.
Discord
We use Discord to help facilitate communication, files, and publication.

If you cannot use Discord, please tell us ahead of time. Not being able to use Discord will not bar you from publication; we simply need to know so that we can make other arrangements.
Generative AI
No generative AI. Period.
This includes written work, artwork, and your bio picture.
If you submit generative-AI-created material without disclosing it, we will not consider the submission. Because we need to be able to trust the provenance of the work we publish, undisclosed AI-generated material may also result in the rest of the submission being refused.
Response & Acceptance
We generally respond to emails quickly, but we are a small, busy press. Submission does not guarantee publication.
We maintain a standard of quality for the Fae Corps Publishing catalog, and all submissions are considered with that in mind.
For Indie Authors Publishing with Fae Corps
For authors whose full manuscripts we accept for publication, we will provide the following to the best of our ability.
Cover Design
Patti will provide three initial cover concepts to begin the conversation and work with you from there. She will attempt to create something you are happy with, and constructive feedback is welcome.
Abuse is not.
Manuscript Formatting
We will format your manuscript, including placement of illustrations you provide.
If you need an illustrator, we can recommend several. If you prefer to have your manuscript formatted elsewhere, you are free to do so.
Copy Editing
We provide copy editing as part of our publishing package.
If your manuscript requires other types of editing, we can recommend good editors who charge fair fees.
Again, disagreement and constructive discussion are fine. Abuse of our editors is not.
Proofs
We will provide a digital proof.
If you would like a physical proof, you are responsible for the cost of ordering it.
Marketing
We will provide a marketing package and discuss marketing options and expectations with you.
Authors and publishers will not always agree about every marketing decision. That’s okay. We can discuss disagreements professionally.
Publication
We publish accepted books to multiple platforms in ebook and paperback formats.
Hardback publication can be discussed, as not every book is suited to that format.
If you provide an audiobook recording that meets the necessary specifications, we are also willing to publish audio editions.
One Last Thing
The services we provide our authors are time-consuming and can be expensive when purchased elsewhere. We provide them to our authors without additional cost because we believe in our authors and their work.
Unfortunately, we have had authors in the past treat our staff poorly because they believed these services entitled them to do so.
They do not.
We deserve to be treated as well as we treat you.
We are happy to answer questions, discuss concerns, fix mistakes, listen to feedback, and work with our authors.
We simply ask for the same professionalism and respect in return.
