TBR Saturday

So we often have friends releasing new books. And we love to recommend them. Here’s our book recommendations. We try to get it done every Saturday but we are busy so we may have missed a few.

  1. Hush: A Paranormal Suspense Novel by Raven Lee
Alicia Watts has never feared things that go bump in the night. She knows actual terror, and it has nothing to do with the bogeyman. If it weren’t for her sister, Bailey, Alicia would have been the victim of the “monster” known as the system. So when Bailey ends up in a mental institution after being found delusional and roaming the streets, Alicia doesn’t hesitate to rush to her side.
The doctor doesn’t sugarcoat it. Bailey has suffered a severe mental breakdown. She’ll talk to no one, but she’s far from mute. Every waking moment is spent singing the children’s lullaby Hush, Little Baby. Not even their horrid past explains Bailey’s extreme psychosis.
As Alicia searches for answers, she experiences strange events in Bailey’s home… events that make her question everything. What happened to Bailey? Was her sister living a double life? And the one that toys with her head the most … maybe there are things that go bump in the night?
  2. Fake Around and Find Out: An Enemies-to-lovers Fake Relationship Grumpy Sunshine romance. (Happy Haven Book 1) By S.M. Shade
An enemies-to-lovers, fake relationship romantic comedy.
The Happy Haven Trailer Park is not where I hoped to be at age twenty-five.
Circumstances have left me without a job or a car in a small town where work is scarce. When my insufferable neighbor approaches me with a very indecent proposal to co-star in his videos on the Lonely Hands app, I have to resist the impulse to punch him in the mouth.
I’ll admit, Monroe is hot with his dark eyes and quick grin, but he’s the most infuriating man I’ve ever met.
After weeks of no luck finding a new job, I finally accept his offer with one condition. Nobody can know what we’re doing.
Now, I’m stuck faking a relationship to hide the real reason that I’m spending so many nights at the home of a man I despise.
It’s going to be a long summer.
Can be read as a standalone romance.
  3. Busted Vamp (Belluomo Vampy Saga Book 4) By L.D. Wosar
Kaysee Belluomo was JADED to the violence in her human life.
She became a WILD warrior to stop vycans
The sunshine of her life turned her into a FIERCE ripper.
Now she suffers a BUSTED heart after the love of her life was ripped from her.
Can Kaysee Belluomo be wild and fierce again?
Or will her busted spirit lead her to be jaded once more?
  4. Invaders 1: An Alien Invasion Thriller by Nick Clausen
From bestselling author of Under the Breaking Sky comes an epic new alien invasion series.
A strange, glowing object lands in the forest. Tim is the only one who sees it. Venturing out to investigate, he discovers animals infected with a mysterious black growth. When he returns to his cabin, he realizes the horrifying truth: whatever disease the object brought to Earth, Tim has caught it too.
Now begins a living nightmare. Tim grows sicker, succumbs to the illness and dies—only to awaken again the next morning.
But something is wrong. Tim is no longer fully human. He’s transforming into something else. Something dangerous …
Invaders offers a chilling blend of sci-fi horror and post-apocalyptic suspense. With its gripping tale of alien invasion and unsettling mutations, this story will appeal to fans of Independence DayInvasion of the Body Snatchers, and Stephen King’s Dreamcatcher and The Tommyknockers. A compelling start to a series that explores survival, humanity, and the fear of the unknown.
  5. James Black: James Black Book 1 By Skye Turner
James Black, the hottest name in Hollywood. Blockbuster films, tabloid headlines, and broken hearts surround this golden playboy.
Avangeline Price, a strong willed, tough as nails, zero tolerance for games woman who believes love only exists in books and movies.
James is accustomed to women falling at his feet. Avangeline has an intense dislike of celebrities and an even bigger dislike of James Black.
    She’s unimpressed. He’s intrigued.
Both have preconceived notions. But… sometimes the unscripted territory is what matters most.
When Hollywood meets Louisiana, can real life rival the movies?
***This book contains graphic sex, explicit language, and adult situations which may be uncomfortable for some readers, ie. cheating. It is NOT intended for those readers under the age of 18 OR who don’t read that type of book.
