Please perish the thought

that you have the power to change

I tossed aside tradition to

chase the storm

and now I’m living in the wreckage

because even after disaster strikes

you’re chasing butterflies

Some say that’s unorthodox—

somewhat quirky, almost endearing

I say my perceptions are changing

I’m on a quest for the serendipitous

Let’s bury hatchets under buried bodies
