Heartbreak is the unfortunate bi-product of love that, at some point, almost all of us will experience somewhere down the line.Brain studies have shown that the withdrawal of romantic love activates the exact brain mechanisms that get activated when addicts are withdrawing from substances like cocaine or heroin. This phenomenon is what makes heartbreak so […]
In the past two months, I’ve discovered the importance of protecting my writing time. I used to get distracted with my phone or social media. When I cut back on these habits I noticed that I’m more productive. I started with 30 minutes of no distractions and then it turned into hours. I was able […]
We are all about promotion of the indie here. Are you a indie artist or author? Post links to your work! This is the place to brag about your work. Or do you know an indie that needs to be seen? Post a link. Sharing is caring after all. We also welcome you to post services for the indie… If you are an editor, cover designer, or something like that… Post that link!
What are you working on? Share with us a teaser for something that you are or have done. Share links too so that we can find you… Don’t feel like sharing your work? Well share another indie so that they can be seen!
Let’s talk about Faery Places. This anthology is all about the places. The dark sppoky forest, or the undersea cove… the story must feature a place for the fae to play in.

Editing is provided. If your story is in draft form it is still acceptable, however it must be readable. Gore is acceptable, however do keep it reasonable, no one wants to read gore for gore’s sake. We do not accept erotica at this time. We are here to showcase good indie authors, and are more than willing to help those just getting started.
We will accept stories that have been published before, as long as you retain publishing rights.
The submissions will decide how this is handled. If we recieve mostly art and poetry it will be unpaid/ebook copy only. If it is more stories it will be a percentage of the royalties.
As you remember from the last essay, we discussed what conflict is and isn’t. We also discussed the sources and types of conflict you can write about. This week, we’ll put that knowledge into action. Remember the components of conflict revolve around the three O’s (yes, I like my mnemonic devices) of objectives, obstacles, and […]
on Fiction University: Theme is one of the best plotting tools a writer has. I’ve always been a plot-focused writer, so theme was something I never paid a lot of attention to when I was learning how to write. I didn’t think I needed it, because theme was for literary novels or stories with deep, […]
