Hearts can’t break they are not made of glass

TBR Saturday

So we often have friends releasing new books. And we love to recommend them. Here’s our book recommendations. We try to get it done every Saturday but we are busy so we may have missed a few.

  1. Heart of Iron By C.M. Alongi
Supernatural meets Two Broke Girls in the start of a new urban fantasy series, based off of the TikTok series CaFae Latte. Jennifer Charles (JC) has sort of figured out their life. They’re two months out of prison, clean, and sober, and just got a job at a coffeeshop: CaFae Latte, owned by the mysterious and powerful fairy who goes by Violet. They’re getting along with their knife-happy coworker and have even started dating one of the regulars who practices witchcraft. But JC is not the only one with a dark past. When Violet’s Fae Realm enemies come for revenge, they frame JC for their crimes, putting their new life in jeopardy. With Violet missing and everyone blaming the ex-con, JC will have to face their own checkered past, Confederate vampires, and shapeshifting fairies to save their boss and themself.
Meanwhile, Violet would like to remind the Fae why they call her the Iron Witch.
  2. Acts of Contrition: A Dark Captive Romance By S.L. Sinclair
My life has never been anything but cruel shadows and broken promises. After I found my father’s dead body when I was twelve, Mom spiraled into a drug-induced oblivion, needles and pills her only companions. With the drugs came men who knew exactly how to leave bruises where no one would see them.
    On both of us.
At eighteen, I finally clawed my way out of Hell, only to discover freedom has a price I pay with my body and soul. No caviar and champagne for a girl like me, just torment and cheap thrills while strange hands explore what’s left of me.
All I want is a single moment to breathe. Until he materializes from the darkness.
Thomas has been watching me from the shadows since I first started working the streets. His eyes track me like I’m both prey and salvation. He knows one devastating truth: to save me, he must first break me completely.
What he doesn’t understand is that I’m already shattered beyond repair; my pieces too sharp and dangerous for anyone to hold without bleeding.
And his blood might be the only offering that could ever redeem me.
He thinks I need saving. I might be his damnation instead.

A modern-day Alice in Wonderland meets the undead…

She won’t rest until she’s sent every walking corpse back to its grave.
Had anyone told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. But that’s all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone.
Her father was right. The monsters are real.
To avenge her family, Ali must learn to fight the undead. To survive, she must learn to trust the baddest of the bad boys, Cole Holland. But Cole has secrets of his own, and if Ali isn’t careful, those secrets might just prove to be more dangerous than the zombies.

Can she pull off a Christmas miracle, or will it be a silent night?
