KJ Hannah Greenberg uses her trusty point-and-shoot camera to capture the order of G-d’s universe, and Paint 3D to capture the chaos of her universe. Sometimes, it’s insufficient for her to sate herself by applying verbal whimsy to pastures where gelatinous wildebeests roam or fey hedgehogs play. Hannah’s poetry and art collections are: Word Magpie (Audience Askew, 2024, Forthcoming), Subrogation (Seashell Books, 2023), and One-Handed Pianist (Hekate Publishing, 2021).
Joseph A. Miller is an Associate Professor of Art at S.U.N.Y. Buffalo State, where he has taught drawing and painting since 1997. Miller’s work is in numerous public and private collections, and has been shown internationally in Finland, China, Poland and the Czech Republic, as well as across the United States, from Berkeley, California to Cambridge, Massachusetts. His work is represented by Art Dialogue Gallery in Buffalo, NY and West End Gallery in Corning, NY.
I focus primarily on the human figure depicted in environments that create a context for psychologically charged open ended narratives. Many of these narratives explore ideas about power and vulnerability, about enchantment and play. Children are often featured because children often play.
Quality of light is a common theme. In particular, the way in which atmospheric light and locale can suggest a sense of mystery and silence. These works are dark, humid and hopefully, at their best, memorable. For me, the most successful are those that evoke the feeling that an event is about to happen or has recently happened.
Images of figures or figures in landscapes, in groups or in isolation, share a common feeling of significance. Wholly absorbed within themselves or the dialogue shared between one another, they wait for the unfolding of their private story.
Our new intern, J. Angel Ellison is planning to assist on the Blog. They may have a learning curve over the next week or so. Please give them a bit to learn the way of working with the blog.
They are hoping to eventually promote a social media following. This blog will grow with their creativity and we will hopefully have more for you to see here with their touches here.
Up until now all of what was posted as Fae Corps Pub was done by the owners of Fae Corps Publishing. Well the owner has their own blog – {{Pattimouse}}} So I will be posting further as my own name. The Intern will be taking over the FaeCorpsPub Identity.
The posts may be a little late for the next week as they are getting used to this process.
Blurb: A new generation. An unbreakable bond. A final adventure. It’s been nearly eighteen years since Princess Adalina went in search of the Nihryst to break the curse set upon them by her ancestors. The stars foretold the fate of her family and the group of immortals, but there was more to the story. When her daughter Elinore is kidnapped by a witch, the realm is in an uproar. And none feel as guilty for her disappearance as Prince Kal, her cousin and best friend. He’ll do whatever he must to save Elin, including sneaking off with a ship full of rebels and working with a mysterious, intriguing woman who makes him question everything… like the arranged marriage he’d been planning to a faraway queen he only knows through letters. The young queen who’s fighting for her crown and needs his alliance. With the clock ticking down, decisions must be made. Friendships and relationships are put to the ultimate test, and making one wrong move could have catastrophic consequences. ~~~
This collection includes The Missing Crown, The Missing Legacy, and the short stories from The Lost Dreams. With pirates, thieves, witches, and rebels, these new characters carry out adventures worthy of those who came before them!
Eighteen years ago, the heroes of the Great War outlawed magic to protect their people. Or so they claimed. The kingdom of Tulansia still lies in ruin, and now, their past is coming back to haunt them. Charles Lamden, former hero named traitor, is finally ready for vengeance, and it starts by leading a violent rebel faction in an invasion on the castle to take the royal family hostage. Only Princess Emmalyn manages to flee with the help of her best friend. The two find shelter in a hidden mountain village, where Emma quickly realizes that everything she knows of the world is a lie. Her best friend, the boy she’s loved her whole life, is one of her secret guards—a group created by her father, sworn to protect her above all others. Those with magic aren’t the dangerous people she was always taught to fear, and they might be her only hope in rescuing her family. And her parents? They’re behind so much of the deceit. Because there’s a bigger reason the rebels took the royals hostage, and Emma’s at the very center of it.
So we often have friends releasing new books. And we love to recommend them. Here’s our book recommendations. We try to get it done every Saturday but we are busy so we have missed a few.
An Old family curse, a destined romance, and why not let’s throw in a bit of hopelessness…this next one has it all. If You Don’t Love Me We Both Die By CM Stunich looks like it will be a worthwhile read.
Ever heard a title that made you laugh enough to look closer? This one seems to be attached to an interesting little adventure. Beer for my Corpses by CM Maguire is a misplaced adventures novel with a humorous name. It seems to have undead, loan sharks and so much more…
One Day Can truly change everything. Oh boy. this one is personally hitting spots. It deals with suicide, but it seems to handle it right. It asks the question that has plagued so many of us…If you have only been invisible what happens when you are finally seen? That Day by Skye Turner has trigger warnings in the blurb, but I think it may be worth reading.
Hannah and Other Stories By Rami Ungar is seven horror stories. It looks like it might be a good collection. The blurb listed several things that could be found in the stories…and it seems well rounded.
The last one is book three in a series…Primal by Emery LeeAnn based on the recommendation this one is dark and creepy….
Now Though I have listed the Five…I have an extra one this time…. MaryJanice Davidson’s Road Queens. The reason is because she is donating the proceeds from it for a DV charity. I can’t help but see the idea of an author doing stuff like that as a extra reason to promote an already good thing.
Check back next week for more TBR recommendations.
Secret Guard, a new YA dystopian fantasy by @c8_marie, is releasing on Kindle Vella in the spring of 2024, and I’ve got a first look at the cover and blurb!
