Answering the Query Where and what all do you publish?

We publish a wide variety of books. Currently, we have a catalog that includes romance, horror, memoirs, children’s books, poetry, and fantasy. We are in discussions with authors of game books and a coloring book. We do each book on a case by case basis. This allows us to maintain the quality of the products we produce.

We use a wide variety of places for our Ebooks, using Draft2digital to assist us in distribution. We also distribute through Amazon and Google play directly. We use Barnes and noble for print – both hard and paper back editions. We also use Amazon to try and make it easier for people to find our books.

we update the reading list as we produce new books – www.books2read.com/rl/faecorpsllc

If you have other questions you want to see in this format send an email and I will see about doing them.

Answering The Query: What do you accept for submissions?

Photo by Ann H on Pexels.com

We do roughly three anthologies a year. We do a monthly newsletter.

Anthologies –

A typeface for all submissions…Either Times New Roman, Arial, or Ubuntu. Something easy to read. No really weird formatting please. at least 12 pt font.

Stories – The paid versions are limited in the slots, but we are looking for between 3k and 6k word count on the stories. The word count is not a fixed thing…if your story is 2880 words…send it. If your story is 6500-word count, send it. We will help you to get it where it needs to be. The unpaid anthologies have similar requirements without limitations.

Poetry – This is where we limit the amount. Sending in huge amounts of poetry makes it difficult for us to sort through the submissions. We ask that you limit it to 5 per entry. This gives us a reasonable ability to choose the best work that is sent to us. We do not limit form or style. We do ask that the poem be able to fit on a single page.

Art – Printing does usually end up with the pictures going to grayscale. Ebooks will have the picture in color. 300dpi is required for publication. We again ask that you limit yourself to 5 submissions of this variety to each anthology. We appreciate the talent in your work but it makes it harder on us to put together a showcase of indie talent.

Newsletter-

Much of the newsletter is the same as the anthologies. The only real difference is that the newsletter goes out monthly. At the end of each year, we choose from the newsletter to release a yearly best-of anthology.

When you submit – Your submission should either be an attachment or a google docs link. It should come with a short bio written in 3rd person. Include a picture for the about the author area – either a picture of you or a logo or something similar. Make sure there is at least one link where you can be found in your bio.

Answering The Query: Do you Pay?

Photo by John Guccione http://www.advergroup.com on Pexels.com

This is perhaps the first question asked when it comes to publication. We have two types of an anthology that we do.

Paid anthologies – These have limited slots. Usually 9 stories and 10 art/Poetry slots. We require the author of the stories to assist with the marketing. Those who do will receive 10% of the total royalties paid for the anthology. Those who do not or those that submit Poetry or Art receive 1% of the royalties. These anthologies are to promote the authors.

Unpaid anthologies- There are two types of unpaid anthologies. One is for charity where most of the royalties go to a specific charity based upon the anthology. The other the royalties go to keep our doors open. In both types, the authors get an ebook copy of the book in their choice of format. Also, the authors can go through us and get copies of the book at author prices.

Our indie authors who publish a book through us receive 75% of the royalties. We offer Editing, Layout, Cover Design, and marketing for the 25% we receive. (Though if the author chooses to bring their work already edited or a bought cover we do not complain.) We do require that the author cover the cost of the initial proof copy to make sure that the book looks like the author wants it to look. Otherwise, that is the only cost requirement for publishing with us.

I hope that this answered any questions involved in our pay scale.

Upcoming Anthology announcements & Other Announcements

We have three different anthologies we are seeking submissions for who have deadlines rapidly approaching. Here are the submission details for all three.

Grandmother’s Wisdom

I am putting together my grandmother’s stories and poetry my boyfriend’s grandmother wrote. But I want it to reflect the wisdom of all grandmothers. So here is my request.

Do you have a story that you remember your grandmother (abuela) telling? Or a bit of poetry they wrote that you would love to see in print? Try submitting it for this anthology. I am busier than I have any reason to expect – so I am setting the deadline for March first with an expected publishing date of the first of June.

I am also accepting art. I only ask that it is from your grandmothers. And that you are able to give consent for me to publish it. This can include pictures of art, recipes written by hand, or any art of the like.

To submit email the creation and a small introduction (preferred with a picture) of your grandma who created it. The address for this is faecorpspublishing@gmail.com

The above image will be the cover. I realize that this is gender-biased. I feel like I have more from the amazing women who I am descended from than I do the men in my family. And since I have been wanting to honor my maternal grandmotherโ€ฆ This was born. Maybe I will someday do a call for grandfather loreโ€ฆ But first this.

This is an unpaid anthology, half of the profits will be going to the charity of No Kid Hungry All contributors will receive an ebook copy and the opportunity to buy copies at author pricing.

Editing is provided. If your story/poetry is in draft form it is still acceptable, however, it must be readable. Gore is acceptable, however, do keep it reasonable, no one wants to read gore for goreโ€™s sake. We do not accept erotica at this time. We are here to showcase good indie authors and are more than willing to help those just getting started.
