Teaser Tuesday

It’s that time again!

Tell us about your work in progress! Or something that you have published! Or link to some one else’s great writing to help us see them!

Give us a teaser and links to find you!

Also!!! Remember the Deadline for Through the Sunshine is Friday! We have received a wonderful set of stories and look forward to sharing them with you. We are looking at starting to tell you about the authors involved and more about the anthology starting next week.

Deadline is near

So we extended the deadline! And it was for good… As we have received some more amazing stories since the extension. We really want you to answer the call for submissions! Remember the story requirements are 3500-5000 wc and a light or good fae subject. To enter send it as a doc format to faecorpspublishing@gmail.com with the subject of Through the Sunshine.

We will be helping the authors in the anthology by editing the stories, so if it is a first draft it is still acceptable. We look forward to what you are sending us!

So I have been thinking about this week and how much Tuesday has thrown off my schedule. My daughter was definitely more important and I have spent as much time as I could with her for her sweet 16th. So I also kinda missed my Monday poetry by telling y’all about my family.

A conversation with a friend of mine, another author, got my mind going. There are a few women poets who have been a big influence in my life. They helped me to survive and become me. So I am going to, until I cover each of them, share information about these poets daily. Yes it is going to include the weekend. I am also going to do next week’s normal posts if I have not finished by then.

I am starting with a legend. Maya Angelou.

There is a storm brewing under my skin

pulling  and  trying to rip my skin apart

trying to shred into small bits and pieces

I can feel the insect crawl on the nape of my skin

I can feel that twitchy feeling

those tiny paralyzing shocks

delivered in a

blink of an eye

when I twitch and

fail

and all my hairs on my back rise a

all at once

as they bear witness

to the atrocity my pain

delivers to my body

the frenzied state I’m left in

with my knotted stomach

legs trembling in fear

as I sit knock-kneed getting the

a first-hand witness of the

undesirable pain

my body wreaks on my soul

a thousand shocks

traveling through the neurons

those garbled paths

with the broken message

my brain fervently trying to decipher

and fails

ever and ever again

Maybe if you sit close

you ears held to my chest

you can hear

Prompt!

This looks like an entrance from the faerie realm. Does it inspire you? Write a poem about it and send it to us. We will feature it on our social media. Write a story and we may use it in Through the Sunshine – our upcoming anthology. Deadline was extended til Feb 14th at midnight!

Enjoy coming up with something and let us see what you got!

Happy Writing!

Deadline extended

Well… We have been requested by many people to extend the deadline for Through the Sunshine. Deadline was yesterday midnight. However in the spirit of love and light, Cyn and I have decided to extend the deadline to midnight on valentine’s day.

Remember we are looking for stories 3500-5500 wc with a theme of light/good fae. Email your submission in doc format to faecorpspublishing@gmail.com with through the sunshine as the subject. First draft is accepted.

Deadline reminder

Tomorrow is the deadline for any submissions for Through the Sunshine.

What we are looking for : a short story of between 3500-5500 word count with a topic of good/light fae. We are accepting first drafts. (We will help with editing)

If you don’t get a story to us, you are guaranteed to not be included in Through the Sunshine. If you get a story in, even if it is rough, you stand a chance.

We are paying a percentage of sales to the included authors. We don’t do that with all of our anthologies. Included authors will also be included in a exclusive group that hears about our submission calls first.

In order to submit email your story as a doc file to faecorpspublishing@gmail.com with a subject of through the sunshine.

Acceptance

Is it surrender or acceptance that I feel?

When I know your gone, but I wish it wasn’t real?

When I walk in your home, and wish to see your face?

When there is an emptiness, a void, that cannot be replaced?

Have I accepted that you are truly gone?

Does going to work mean that I have moved on?

Have I accepted that the world has changed?

That our lives have now and forever been re-arranged?

Have I reached acceptance?

That mysterious fifth and final stage?

I accept and believe that this is not the end

I accept and believe that I will one day see you again

Side-by-side-by-side, our family will reunite in Heaven

Side-by-side with Christ, who has rescued and forgiven.

In honor of my Papa who passed away last year, January 14th, I will be re-posting my grief poems in the hopes that those who read…

Glitter in the moonlight

Ride upon the wind

Hit you with an icy bite

Leaves you feeling skinned

Deadly is my beauty

Pull you from your home

Into alabaster sea

Now you are alone

Feathering your lashes

Fragile -seeming thing

I’ll crumble you like ashes

You will bow to me

Hear the children laughing

That is not your fate

Numb you into relaxing

Hush, it’s getting late

As your eyes are closing

Heart is beating slow

You look as if you’re dozing

But it’s time to go

You’re my sole endeavor

Wrapped in my embrace

Together now forever

Peace upon your face
