and through the glass
dear Alice went
to see what she could see
and when she did
she turned and said
there’s only more of me

I’m an artist, a writer, a vegetarian, an animal rights activist and quite a few other things as well. I love books, cats, philosophy, good conversation, Chicago and the arts. So my blog is full of bits and pieces but it’s the bits and pieces that make life interesting to me. You can read more of my writing at Rethinking Life

10 Awesome Blogs I Want to Share

Ari's avatarAuthor Ari Meghlen Official Website

For those of you new to my blog, the last Monday of every month is given over to a Round-up post.  I share between 5 and 10 posts from other bloggers that I loved and think you’d love too.

Well, today I thought I’d do something a little different.  I’m sharing 10 of my favourite blogs that I love to visit.

This was not easy as I follow a lot of blogs that are all so awesome and packed full of great content too.

I hate exercise. At least I hate the after effects. I’m fine with taking long walks, hiking, and the occasional dance off in my living room. But I really don’t like sweating. It’s a real handicap when sweat is the proof that exercise is working. After a summer of trying my best to avoid the heat (to little effect), I’m trying to get back into exercising, but for now it’s an uphill battle.

It’s the same with writing. If I ever needed proof that it’s a muscle, I’ve got it now. Marketing has been plaguing me for the past month or so. It’s been rather consuming (writing blog posts, creating ads on Goodreads, keeping tabs on sales, fighting with the printer because of a 0.0625 differential on the cover art, etc.) and therefore has blocked out any semblance of a writing regiment. I vowed when school started for my daughter…

Negativity Disguised — Pattimouse

So, I am about to rant. I am going to keep it civil… But I thought that meme funny and slightly appropriate. As you know, my new publishing company is doing a release event this week. Well yesterday was Serena’s day to post and bedtime loomed at 3pm as usual. So I was blessed when […]

Des Jensen Photography

Besides being an author and crafter, Des Jensen also is a photographer. I picked a couple of my favorites that she took in Chicago and Colorado. Hope y’all enjoy them as much as I do!

Patti Harris

Today our Creative Spotlight is our very own Patti Harris! She has a great little art company called Serenity Studios where she does her various crafting. She paints, she does amazingly colorful digital art, multimedia, sewing/crotchet, and awesome resin and jewelry.

She has always been a Creative thanks to the fact that it runs in her blood and it was expected with the massive amount of creatives in her family. Her mom does quilts and macrame, her uncle draws and is a cosplayer, her maternal grandmother sewed, crotched, knitted, and did plastic canvas. Her paternal grandmother made dollhouse furniture and did ceramics and her father was a leatherworker.

I asked her why she chose to be an Indie Artist and she explained that due to various situations in her life, she didn’t know how else to be an artist.

She has had quite a few of her art pieces published and she has a website up on Storenvy — Serenity Studios

I asked her if she has any hobbies she enjoys when she isn’t doing all that art. She explained in her usual quiet way that being a creative is her life so she enjoys doing her art as a job and as a hobby. She also draws and is a gamer.

She lives in the beautiful state of West Virginia in the USA with her family.

Before we finished talking, I asked her if she ever gets blocked when being creative and how she handles it. She told me she does get blocks and she says for her, switching mediums keeps her creativity flowing!

So there you have it folks! Fae Corps Publishing’s very own Patti Harris! I hope you all enjoyed reading about her creative side and y’all should all go visit her website listed above and show her some love!
