it wasnโ€™t the unwillful

longing but the roar

of my thoughts.

with the speed of

a freight train,

they derailed my

subconscious.

the memories, they

resurfaced,

daunting and

unconscious emotion.

It was nine years

ago, I remember

clearly I could

smell the rain
